Kitchen Overview 

LA Set Construction had the amazing opportunity to manufacture a formal kitchen for Subway’s commercial. The kitchen was designed to show the comfort of being in a break room while being famished at work. The kitchen exemplified a representation of Subway’s quick-service, making it effortless to eat their fresh made-to-order sandwiches and wraps.

‍Planning and Collaboration

LA Set Construction’s team worked collaboratively to fabricate the most efficient and formal kitchen that represented a break room in a factory. The kitchen included cabinets, refrigerator cabinets, counter tops with back splashes, ceiling, and window walls.

Building Cabinets

‍One of our first steps were to fabricate the kitchen cabinets. Our team had to precisely cut the wood for the cabinets. Assuring the properfitmen size. Test fitting each component is an important key to making this kitchen look impeccable.

After the cabinets were built, the surfaces were cleaned and prepped. Laminate was applied to the face of the cabinets, mimicking the appearance of wood. While applying the laminate, we ensured that we had clean edges and did not leave any air bubbles.

‍Wall Preparations 

‍

Throughout the cabinet making process, our painters were preparing the sets. To make the sets look seamless, we used spackles to fill many holes or imperfections and sanded the sets smooth. 

‍

Once everything has been inspected and approved by our management team, we can move forward with applying the primer and paint. 

‍

Priming the sets allows a clean surface for the final finish on the walls. Primer promotes proper paint adhesion and it also covers any wood grains on the walls. After the primer has dried, we apply 2 coats of paint for the finishing touch.

‍Countertop 

‍

Our carpentry created a wooden countertop and applied the laminate choseley our client. Laminate countertops are made out of plastic that is fused with kraft paper, these two materials are what makes a sturdy countertop. 

‍

The laminate has to be well secured, by using solvent based adhesive. The adhesive ensures that the countertop will not move or be damaged during transportation.

Assembling 

‍

Once everything has been approved by our client, our next step is to assemble all elements together. Our team works fast and efficiently to create this beautiful space that our client envisioned.

After we’re done setting up, the production team starts set dressing the kitchen to replicate a break room.
