Bringing Baja Flavor to Life
LA Set Construction collaborated with Pacifico, the renowned Mexican pilsner-style beer brand, to create a vibrant restaurant set for an event in Phoenix, Arizona. Designed as part of a food booth serving Baja tacos and Pacifico beer, the set embodied the brand’s coastal essence and showcased its connection to Mexican culture and the Pacific Ocean.

Fabrication Process
1. Constructing the Walls
- The wall structure was built using plywood, shaped into an L form with one horizontal and one vertical section.
- Plywood sheets were measured, cut, and securely anchored to ensure durability.
2. Preparation Process
- Spackling and Sanding: Filled and smoothed imperfections for a flawless surface.
- Priming: Applied to ensure proper paint adhesion and prevent flaking.
3. Texturing
- Wet drywall compound was applied using a paint roller, and additional texture was added with a thick brush.
- This texturing enhanced the set’s Spanish-style aesthetic.
4. Painting
- Yellow: Pacifico’s signature color was applied to most of the set.
- Beach Scene: The lower section featured blue and white waves hand-painted to depict crashing water on sand.
- Aging Effects: Dark details were added to give the set an aged, rustic appearance.
- Custom Lettering:
- “Pacificos Taqueria” and “Cold cervezas and Baja tacos” were hand-painted on the horizontal section in red, blue, and white.
- The vertical section included two hand-painted lifesaver logos and the phrase “100% delicious, with Mexican flavor”.
5. Adding Vinyl
- A custom-printed vinyl featuring Pacifico’s 12 oz glass bottle was added near the phrase “cold cervezas.”
- Vinyl was carefully applied to ensure a smooth, bubble-free finish.
6. Sealing the Set
- A clear coat sealer was applied to protect the paint and provide a polished finish.
Aesthetic and Functional Impact
The final restaurant set successfully captured Pacifico’s coastal vibes and Mexican heritage. Key design elements, such as the yellow color palette and beach-inspired waves, created an inviting and cohesive atmosphere that resonated with the brand’s identity.
