The collaboration between Living Proof and LA Set Construction was centered on creating a functional yet aesthetically appealing set that reflected the brand’s focus on accessibility and quality. Our client requested a design featuring:

• A cubby storage cabinet with multiple compartments

• A multi-section closet with cubbies and a closet rod

• Two mirrors: an organically shaped mirror and a rectangular mirror for the closet

Together, we worked closely with the Living Proof team, ensuring that their vision and requirements were met throughout the design and fabrication process.

Step-by-Step Construction Process

1. Constructing the Walls and Cabinet:
   Our carpenters began by cutting plywood to the precise measurements provided by Living Proof. The walls were assembled first, followed by the cubby storage cabinet, which featured 24 compartments. The multi-section closet included two vertical cubbies, a horizontal cubby, and a larger section with a closet rod.

2. Assembly and Spackling:
   After securing the plywood panels to the wall frames, we applied spackle to all joints and seams to create a smooth, cohesive appearance. This step ensured that the walls, cabinet, and closet appeared as one seamless unit.

3. Sanding and Painting:
   Once the spackle dried, we sanded the entire surface to achieve a smooth, professional finish. The set was then cleaned thoroughly to remove any dust before applying multiple coats of primer and paint to achieve the perfect pink hue chosen by the client.

4. Sealing the Set:
   After receiving approval from the client on the paint finish, our team applied a clear coat sealant to protect the paint and ensure durability. This sealing process helps maintain the set’s appearance over time, especially under production lights.

   The last step involved installing two mirrors. The organically shaped mirror was mounted beside the closet, while a rectangular mirror was installed vertically inside the closet, adding a functional and stylish element to the set.
